Ohhh, Heather and Jeff.....as she would say, quoting one of those Kardashian chicks "Like, so on another level." I rarely meet people as animated as Heather, who shares a very similar sense of humor to my own.
Seriously, while walking through Vanderbilt's property, the two of us busted out in an Ace of Base song. Yes, I know the words. Yes, I'm THAT old. I can't figure out how she knew the words though...hmmm. Jeff is the perfect counterpart for her..I think he gets a kick out of her larger than life personality.
I've spent alot of time shooting at Vanderbiult, so for their session I did a little investigation and came up with a new spot for pictures that I LOVED, but it wasn't the easist place to get to. Luckily, I was with two VERY game people. After our walk around Vanderbilt, we stopped at her Grampa's house for some shots next to his very cool old brightly colored shed. Fyi, he has a working old school corded phone mounted overhead in there. I didn't get to meet him, but I think I'll love him:)
I'm looking forward to their wedding in November, my last wedding of the 2013 season and sure not to dissapoint!!
Well, they always say that dogs are man's best friend. If that's the case, then Dave here is a very popular guy. A professional dog trainer, kind soul and friend to animals, Dave thought he an Eli would love to have their beloved babies in a picture with them for their engagement session. Eli, who is beautiful inside and out, agreed and we took a little stroll at Vanderbilt mansion for their engagement.shoot.
Coming soon, I'll blog their wedding, which was lovely, and yes...there was a dog for a ringbearer!!!
Not everyone knows that some of my favorite sessions are senior portrait sessions. I love the age group....almost grown up but not quite, with the whole world ahead of them. Their excitement about the future is infectious!
This lovely young lady is Kellie, and she wanted a summery look for her senior portraits. I loved her cute summer dress and whole look, so fashionable and appropriate!
We walked all around Eleanor Roosevelt's estate in Hyde Park and got some amazing images of her. I can't wait for my next senior session!
Well, what can I say about Steve and Nicole? Hmm. Good taste, good vibes, and good times. This was a very nicely put together wedding that had style, and everyone involved stayed cool and collected, even in sweltering 100 degree heat and high humidity!
I loved the flowers, designed by United Floral (http://www.unitedfloralny.com/ ) They lasted all day despite the blistering heat and humidity.
I went outside my Hudson Valley Weddings habitat and ventured to Manhattan College for their ceremony. Both Nicole and Steve attended the college, as well as many of their guests and family members, so it was a no-brainer for them to have their ceremony there. We did most of their formals in and around the buildings of the school.
From there, it was on to Beckwith Pointe (http://beckwithpointe.com/), a premier New Rochelle Beach Club. I had a hard time not trading my camera bags for a bikini and a drink with an umbrella at this place, let me tell you. I had to keep reminding mysef I was at work:) I didn't even know there were "beach clubs" in New York! The staff at Beckwith Pointe is outstanding- we were treated like guests from the moment we got there. Even though I was wearing flip flops. (Had to, I went through 3 pairs of shoes that day...long story...)
The reception was rocking. With lots of musicians in the crowd, the Emcees and Drummers from Pure Entertainment ( http://www.pureentertainmentnyc.com/) had no trouble finding people to rock out on the drums and those party people DANCED. Alot. The folks from Love and You Video did a great job of covering the action.
I went home sweaty, blisters on my feet, and pretty satisfied:) Congratulations Nicole and Steve, thanks for a good time!
Who doesn't like going au naturale once in awhile?? This chunky monkey is my pseudo-nephew, (my bestie's little boy) and he was all smiles in his birthday suit for his summer session. This month, he turns the big one year old. Maybe Septmeber will offer me one more hot day and he can dress all up in his birthday suit again and have an outdoor cake smash:) We wore him out so much for this session that he fell asleep on me while off-roading in a pickup truck on a vast Rhinebeck, NY horse farm. Yup, he's a farmer after my own heart!
