Andrea and Nick's hot, vibrant, July wedding was a feast for any photographer's eye, to be sure. With a healthy dose of color, a side order of props, and a main course of FUN, this couple's nuptuals ROCKED!
Andrea is highly creative and put alot of thought and time into this celebration. right from the start, she wanted color! We did their engagement session in funky Woodstock, NY, using all the colors of the wedding we could get our hands on. The session album was made into a guest sign-in book and displayed on a table at the reception, where it fit neatly into the color scheme...(just as Andrea planned it:)
The trendy ladies carried parasols, and Andrea (craft little thing) borrowed a rainbow colored parachute-thingy ( what is that thing called??) for the fun shot of her, Nick and the bridal party which was a riot!!
Most of the formals were done at the fantastic golf course where they held their reception, The Lazy Swan Golf Course and Villages, in Saugerties, NY. ( http://www.thelazyswan.com/#!home/mainPage) This was my first time shooting there, and I have to say, I was quite impressed. The grounds were expansive and immaculate, the ballroom is as grand as any, and then some, and the food was outstanding. It was the perfect setting for this whimsical yet glamourous affair. With the uplighting to accent the room, and exciting entertainment provided by the lovely Danielle of Music By Danielle, (http://www.djdanielle.com/, the reception had it all. The whimsical cake was made by Andrea's high school friend Lauren Stein, of Enchanted Cakes by Lauren. It was adorned by adorable rainbow colored hearts (hearts were part of the wedding theme as well..)
Andrea was quite the DIY bride also, fashioning homemade placecards from construction paper, and making her own favors which were music compilations on cd's bearing one of the images I took during their engagement session. Top it all of with a signature drink and color coordinated flip flops for guests, and this wedding was chock full of details. If that wasn't enough, Andrea led a rockin' round of zumba under the hot uplighting and NEVER missed a beat. I'm not sure how many times you have to practice a thing like this to remember the choreography THAT well, but I am sure it was HUNDREDS.....
Last, but never least, my good friends Jennifer and Michael from Beautiful Memories (http://www.beautifulmemoriesvideony.com/) had the awesome task of recording the days events, colors, and action and I can't wait to see what they've done with it! We've worked together many times, and a wedding like this is enough to turn us into kids in a candy store, running around oohing and ahhing over everything and sqealing like children! Oh yeah, that reminds me, there was a color coordinated candy bar too!!! Ahh, well, I guess if I were to blog everything about Andrea and nick's summer wedding, I may never get out of this chair!
Congratulations to Andrea and Nick, I wish you a colorful future!
