CHERYL BOLTON PHOTOGRAPHY
Thank you for visiting my website! My name is Cheryl Bolton. I photograph a wide variety of subjects, rather than specializing in just one or several areas of portraiture. Though I started in wedding photography over 15 years ago, I've managed to continually evolve and learn my craft as it applies to family, newborn, baby and children's portraiture. It's perfect for me, because I never, ever get bored! What makes that convenient for my clients is that they can choose me from the time they get engaged, and I can continue to document their family through the years all the way up until their little ones are high school seniors.
My home based studio is clean and cozy, and boasts both a state of the art studio space and a gorgeous outdoor setting. Mom and dad can watch the flatscreen on the couch while their newborn gets his or her very first images done in style. I have a large selection of backdrops and props for the studio, and I tailor the choices to each client's tastes. My collection leans towards the rustic and shabby chic side, but I'm happy to come up with themes that are outside my wheelhouse as well!
If you like high-end, low-stress, affordably priced photography, you have landed in the right place. Welcome!
"A portrait is not made in the camera, but on either side of it."

About me
Originally from upstate New York, (the real upstate, you know, far above Albany) I moved to the Hudson Valley just about 30 years ago. I've spent most of that time going to school, riding and showing horses, building my business and having a family. In addition to my "real job" I also have a photography prop shop on etsy and a small private riding stable.
I caught the photography bug in college when I needed an elective course, and went on to take every photography course available. Even ones that didn't apply to my credits. I learned back in the days of darkrooms, negatives, and real actual paper. When there were no cell phones, no social media, and people read books and newspapers made out of paper and ink.
I'm a seasoned photographer with a youthful approach. If it's not fun, what's the purpose? I want people to relax and enjoy their session and be thrilled with the results. My approach to my subjects is that I've never met a stranger. I'm at ease with everyone around me and I am fascinated by all the physical and spiritual differences in the human beings I photograph.
